The first thing to know about the Beatitudes is that they are not skills to be learned but qualities of character - to be received - and actions inspired, by God’s grace. Neither you nor I can "keep" them, as if they were just milder versions of the ten commandments or statements of advice on how to be nice. None of us can keep them in our own strength and wisdom —we need help. That help comes by the grace and power of the Holy Spirit. Someone studying the Beatitudes could be starting a lifelong love of the teachings of Jesus and of Jesus Himself.
